To optimize your cleaning efficiency and experience, please carefully read these brief instructions. Though the FilterWand is a powerful and simple to use tool, there is a technique to it requiring a little practice to master. You'll soon find, with each usage the jobs gets easier and faster.
1. Put on eye-wear protection.
2. Before connecting garden hose, make sure FilterWand switch is in off position.
3. Connect garden hose to FilterWand and turn water on fully.
Tip #1: Place filter on top of milk crate or plastic stool to minimize bending.
4. Turn switch on FilterWand to allow water to flow out.
Tip #2:When starting out don't use full power, wait until you become familiar with the tool.
5. Grab top of the filter with your offhand at arms length and hold the FilterWand in dominant hand an inch or two away from filter angled downwards, this will help to flush debris out the bottom of the filter. The flat stream of water should span many pleats. Slowly rotate the filter away from you while moving the wand up and down.
Tip #3: Clean the filter in sections and angle the wand sharply downwards (45 degrees) when crossing the bands to minimize splash back and clean behind the bands.
6. After cleaning most of the visible debris, push the splash guard a 1/4 - 1/2 inch into a pleat with the wand angled downwards and rotate the filter away from you with your offhand while holding the wand steady. As you do this, the splash guard will pry open all the pleats and thoroughly clean them. After rotating the filter a couple of revolutions, move on to the next section.
